In-Class: 1/23 & 1/26

English 10-3 A/C Days, Block 4
English 10-4 B/D Days, Block 2


The following eight terms were added to the Sort Card deck (after first being introduced as part of Act II Student Guide), bringing the total up to 99:

anachronism, complication, soliloquy, irony, dramatic irony, situational irony, verbal irony, aside
The following activities took place in class today:
1) Paragraph Proofreading Practice.

2) Reviewed Act I, scenes i-iii take-home quiz.

3) Began reading Act II, scenes i-iv of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. As we read we will be responding to a Student Guide with content based questions for each act and identifying examples of Shakespeare's use of specific literary elements in the text.
Homework Due Next Class:
1) Finish reading Act II, and respond to the assigned Student Guide questions. Please feel free to utilize the No Fear Shakespeare website which includes modern translations of some parts of each scene, to assist in your comprehension of the material.
Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to see the teacher PRIOR to Advisement and arrange for a pass when you need assistance with any home/classwork.
