In-Class Today: 12/3 & 12/4

English 10-3 A/C Days, Block 4
English 10-4 B/D Days


The following activities took place in class today:

1) Check of Reading Journal Entry 6 Pre-reading Vocabulary definitions.

2) Discuss the use of THE FOREST as a secondary symbol in the novella.

3) Read and discuss the relationship of the "Myth of Prometheus" to the novella Anthem.

4) Distribute and assign students a Reading Comprehension activities covering information in Chapters IX-X.

5) English 10-4 B/D Days ONLY--Write two well developed paragraphs, one for each of the following prompts: 1) How Prometheus and Equality both similar and different, and 2) Select either the term “anthem” or “ego,” and, using three specific supporting details from the book, explain why you believe Ayn Rand chose that specific word to be either the “unspeakable word” (ego) or the title of the novella (anthem).
Homework Due Next Class:
1) Anthem Test.
2) English 10-4 B/D Days ONLY--Complete two paragraph responses to the prompts above.
Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to see the teacher PRIOR to Advisement and arrange for a pass when you need assistance with any home/classwork.
