In-Class Today: 1/8 & 1/9

English 10-3 A/C Days, Block 4
English 10-4 B/D Days, Block 2


The following activities took place in class today:

1) Reintroduction of the Daily Paragraph Proofreading activity. Each day students will proof a paragraph containing grammar, punctuation and word choice errors using standard proofreader's marks. Every fifth class there will be a brief assessment of student progress.

2) Review of last classes Reading Selection Work for "On the Rainy River" by Tim O’Brien.

3)The following eight terms had new information added to their existing Sort Cards: protagonist, antagonist, theme, climax, plot, exposition, rising action, falling action

4) The following eight terms were added to the Sort Card deck, bringing the total up to 91: plagiarism, act, comedy, dialogue, tragedy, melodrama, stage left/right, crisis

5) Shakespeare’s World Activity: creation of two-column notes using information from the yellow text to identify key details from Shakespeare's England, Theater and Legacy.
Homework Due Next Class:
None.
