In-Class Today: 11/18 & 11/19

English 10-3 Day A, Block 4
English 10-4 Day B, Block 2


The following activities took place in class today:

1) Check of Reading Journal Entry 2 Pre-reading Vocabulary definitions.

2) Anthem, Chapter 2 Quiz.

3) Discussion of, and notes regarding, Anthem theme 1: Individualism v. Collectivism.

4) Distribute and assign students a Chapter II Reading Comprehsnion Quiz.

5) Set-up Anthem Reading Journal Entry 3 for Chapter III-V, pages 52-62, on loose-leaf with the appropriate "Heading" and define the following pre-reading vocabulary (page numbers are in quotes for context) as "Preparing": tarried (55), moat (57), reeling (59)

6) Began reading Chapters III, IV and V of Anthem by Ayn Rand in class.

7) After reading Chapter II continue the reading journal entry by summarizing the events in the assigned reading as "Recapping," and then move on to "Connecting", "Pondering" and "Savoring" as assigned.
Homework Due Next Class:
1)Finish reading Chapters III-V of Anthem and complete a combined Reading Journal Entry for the chapter.
Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to see the teacher PRIOR to Advisement and arrange for a pass when you need assistance with any home/classwork.
