In-Class Today: 11/20 & 11/21

English 10-3 Day A, Block 4
English 10-4 Day B, Block 2


The following activities took place in class today:

1) Check of Reading Journal Entry 3 Pre-reading Vocabulary definitions for tarried (55), moat (57), reeling (59) and add pyre (48).

2) Review of Individualism (Equality 7-2521) v. Collectivism (World Council) graphic organizer, adding additional plot points from Reading Assignment 3.

4) Distribute and assign students a Reading Comprehension activities covering information in Chapters I through V.

5) Set-up Anthem Reading Journal Entry 4 for Chapter VI-VIII, pages 63-80, on loose-leaf with the appropriate "Heading" and define the following pre-reading vocabulary (page numbers are in quotes for context) as "Preparing": humble (66), illustrious (68), quest (70), wretch (71), infamy (71), decreed (72), whim (73)

6) Began Reading Assignment 4 (Chapters VI-VIII), pages 63-80, of Anthem by Ayn Rand in class.

7) After completing Reading Assignment 4, complete the Reading Journal Entry by summarizing the events in the assigned reading as "Recapping," and then move on to "Connecting", "Pondering" and "Savoring" as assigned.
Homework Due Next Class:
1)Finish Reading Assignemnt 4 (Chapters VI-VIII) of Anthem.

2) Complete a combined Reading Journal Entry for the chapters assigned.
Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to see the teacher PRIOR to Advisement and arrange for a pass when you need assistance with any home/classwork.
